Vibrant, vivid, and vivacious, the Ardeton Ensemble
is a flexible chamber ensemble presenting music to new audiences. They
perform evenings of chamber works and solos spanning the 17th
Century to the present day. From Mozart to Movie themes, Bach to Britten,
they bring a youthful vitality and originality to every genre.
Established
in 2003, the Ensemble was formed by graduates of the Birmingham
Conservatoire and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Each member
has studied with eminent professional musicians including Lucy Gould,
Alice Neary, Natasha Boyarsky, and Rivka Golani, and has received coaching
from international chamber musicians such as the Chilingirian Quartet,
Arditti Quartet, and Tchaikovsky Piano Trio. The Ensemble members all
perform as freelance orchestral musicians, and have recently worked with
The National Chamber Orchestra of Wales, English National Ballet, Jersey
Symphony Orchestra, Southern Sinfonia, and Southbank Sinfonia.
Earlier this summer the Ensemble was invited to
Norway to give their first overseas performances as guests of the pianist
Jo Coldicott. They performed Schubert’s ever-popular “Quartettsatz”,
Dvořák’s “American” Quartet and Schumann’s Piano
Quintet for concerts in Risør and Sauherad, Telemark. Other recent
performances for the Ensemble include
a
return appearance at this summer’s Oakham Music Festival in Rutland
where the group collaborated with the clarinettist Robert Bell for
Weber’s Clarinet Quintet, following their performance of Brahms’
Clarinet Quintet in 2006.
