Sarah
Eales is an active freelance violinist and teacher in Bristol.
Originally from Manchester, she was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma
in Music from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, having
previously studied for a Music degree at The University of
Birmingham. During her time in Birmingham Sarah was taught at the
Birmingham Conservatoire by Jeremy Ballard (former Principal Second
Violin of the CBSO), and Nic Fallowfield. Whilst at the RWCMD Sarah
studied with Lucy Gould of the Gould Piano Trio, as well as
Krzysztof Smietana, Philippe Graffin, and Nicholas Whiting. Sarah
was a Section Leader for the college Symphony and Chamber
Orchestras, and played with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales
having successfully auditioned for their Placement Scheme.
Since leaving the RWCMD Sarah has continued to study privately with
Lucy Gould. Sarah has performed regularly at the Aldeburgh Festival and
Snape Proms as a first violinist with the Britten-Pears Orchestra.
She has performed with the National Musicians’ Symphony Orchestra
in concert halls across the UK, is a member of Sinfonia Cymru, and
is a listed extra player for the Orchestra of the Swan and the
English Symphony Orchestra.
She gives regular recitals throughout the South West as violinist
with the Ardeton Ensemble.

Originally from Manchester, Rebecca is a talented violinist who
received a Postgraduate Diploma in Music from the Royal Welsh
College of Music and Drama. Having previously received a BMus degree
from the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music, she has studied the
violin with Dara de Cogan, Nic Fallowfield (Viva), and Nic Whiting
(BBC National Orchestra of Wales). Whilst at the RWCMD Rebecca was a
frequent principal player and also gained the opportunity to play
with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.A busy freelance musician,
Rebecca has played with many UK orchestras, including English
National Ballet, the Carl Rosa Touring Opera, Savoy Opera, National
Symphony Orchestra and the English National Orchestra. Rebecca is
also a Recipient of the Future Reach Award from the Morgenstern’s
Musicians Diary Service.
Born
in Somerset, Rachel's undergraduate and postgraduate studies took
place at the Birmingham Conservatoire. Here she studied with
International Solo Violist Rivka Golani, gained a place on the
Cityof Birmingham Symphony Orchestra placement scheme, was principal
viola of the college ensembles and winner of the Herbert Lumby Prize
for Violinists and Violists.
Since her postgraduate studies Rachel has performed with orchestras and chamber ensembles across the UK, including the Southbank Sinfonia, the Britten-Pears Orchestra, the National Musicians' Symphony Orchestra and the Watford Philharmonic. Rachel is a busy chamber musician, playing with ensembles on cruise ships, the Apollo Quartet, the Toscana Ensemble and the Ardeton Quartet.
Dury is an experienced cellist and regular performer at the Aldeburgh Festival and the major UK concert halls. He has been a
member of the Britten-Pears Orchestra for 4 years, and has also
played with the National Musicians’ Symphony Orchestra, the
British Concert Orchestra and the
British Police Symphony Orchestra. His work in musicals include
credits as principal cellist for productions of Jesus Christ
Superstar, Crazy for You, and West Side Story.
His media work includes an appearance on a BBC Commission for the
Birmingham Film Festival 2001 called “Percussion“, the
soundtrack for the Independent Film “The Last of the BrylCreem
Boys“, and Principal Cellist on an episode of the BBC’s “Dalziel
& Pascoe“. Dury also recently wrote and performed the
string arrangements for Cardiff-based singer Tanya Walker on her
Fopp records EP The
Changing Me.
Dury received a Master of Arts degree from the Birmingham Conservatoire in 2001, where he was Principal Cellist of the Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia, Pelleas and Thallein Ensembles. He also played in masterclasses with Jane Salmon (Schubert Ensemble) and Rohan de Sarum (Arditti Quartet). Prior to this, Dury was an active performer and composer during his undergraduate studies at the University of Birmingham. Specialising in Contemporary performance and composition he had his orchestral work “…on the passing of time…” premiered at the Summer Festival of Music, and in Summer 2004 was solo cellist for a chamber ensemble at the Aldeburgh Festival, premiering works by Young Composers.
